This Trancel TP-194 was manufactured in Japan by Toshiba in 1959. It was distributed in America by Transistor World Corp of 52 Broadway, New York.

This Trancel TP-194 is the macho version of the Toshiba TR-193 ‘Lace’. It is almost identical except that the lace portion of the speaker grill has been replaced by industrial perforated metal, grrrrrrrr! And to top it off the plastic cabinet shines like a beer glass made of black obsidian! However it still shares the same delicate tuning dial as the feminine ‘Lace’...
It is also seen branded as its maker, Toshiba. ![]()

“Chantilly lace and a pretty face,
And a pony tail hanging down,
That wiggle in the walk and giggle in the talk,
Makes the world go round,
There ain't nothing in the world like a big eyed girl,
That makes me act so funny, makes me spend my money,
Makes me feel real loose like a long necked goose,
Oh baby that's what I like!”
